Previously on The Amazing Race,
8 teams raced from Soweto, South Africa to Marseille, France. At the Roadblock, the teams used their brains to easily pass by the detour based on history of France. At the Detour, some teams kept using their strong ability to memorize history, but others switched to a geography-like detour. Gamo and Barry won their 3rd leg in a row, but for Josh and Rizzo, 8th place just wasn't enough anymore.
7 teams remain. Who will be eliminated next?

This is Marseille, the second-most populated city in France. This city gives a huge variety of the city's history and culture. One of the most marvelous places, The Chateau d'If, is one of these examples.
This fortress, one of the settings in Alexandre Duma's novel, The Count of Monte Cristo, will now serve as the start of the 5th leg in a race around the world.
Here are the times teams will depart from the Chateau d'If:

A detour is a choice between two tasks, each with their own pros and cons. In France, art is one of the best ways to express your passion to others. In this detour, you will choose between performing in a dance routine for a group of judges, or making some excellent sculpture for a French artist. The choice: Performing Arts or Visual Arts.
In Performing Arts, you will partake in a dance routine and must answer some questions before going out to perform. When the judges see your satisfactory performance, the main judge will give you your next clue.
